#53 Miller - High Life
I am drinking a cheap commercial beer tonight. My brother-in-law left me one this weekend to review. I don't want to be too one sided and avoid cheap beer. I decided to drink this from the can since I think that is how it is intended to be drank. and it's in a nice orange can for beer hunting season.
This beer smells like old malt, kind of skunky, defiantly not fresh. The color is pretty much a filtered clear yellow. There is plenty of carbonation, but its hard to talk about the head while in a can. I know commercial beers normally have a nice head when poured but it quickly subsides.
The taste is also of skunky old malt, it reminds me of the morning breath I have after a night of drinking beer. There is a little malt sweetness in the taste, but only noticed in a large drink. There is some bitterness after the drink is finished. I can also taste a ever so slight hop flavor, but it might be contributing to some of the skunky flavors in the beer. I don't think the beer is skunky from sun since its in a can, I think this is just how it tastes.
For a less than 50 cents a can it is beer, and will get you drunk. I would recommend another cheap beer over the Champagne of Beers for a low cost drunkenness. This is one of the few beers I really don't like, and taking my time drinking it shows this again.
