#50 Sierra Nevada - Wheat

Another beer from Sierra Nevada. Don't really have much to open with.

This beer has the smell of a wheat beer. There is a light citrus fruit smell, and a strong yeast smell. This beer is highly carbonated with a flood of bubbles from the bottom of the glass forming a nice thick head of foam.

The taste is very dry. There is some wheat and yeast flavor in the beer but it finished really dry. The taste is almost nutty, I think from all the yeast in the beer. There is no sweetness in the taste, this beer could have been made with almost all wheat and not malt. The dryness brings an almost metallic taste to the beer. There is a nice nice smooth mouth feel that all the wheat brings to the beer. The citrus smell does not carry though to the taste of this beer.

I think the lack of sweetness makes this a hard to drink beer. I like the smell, and all the foam, but I think the large amount of wheat makes this beer hard to drink.
