Carlsberg was founded by J. C. Jacobsen and the first brew was finished on November 10, 1847. Today Carlsberg owns breweries in China, Hong Kong, Israel, and throughout Europe. I am not familiar with any of the brands held b Carlsberg since they are mainly on US. In the future I will keep an eye out for more from this company.
This beer has a strong grassy hops smell. The smell is almost astringent it's so strong. A standard yellow beer color with a nice head of foam with a bubble of two coming from the bottom. This looks so stereotypical of a beer that if someone was asked to draw a beer this is what they would draw.
The astringic smell continues to the taste. It's a sharp unpleasant taste, with some detectable malt flavor but mainly the harsh astringic taste. This beer reminds me of Heineken, a beer that is intentionally skunked with UV light to cause the harsh taste. I think this beer is skunked on purpose and that's where all the astringency is coming from.
I do not like this beer. I don't like the harsh skunk taste. I might not even finish this beer I am so unhappy with it. This beer is fit to give to a twelve year old to keep them from drinking beer.
