I again got this beer from Schlafly's Bottleworks. This is their Maplewood named after the city of Maplewood Missouri where Bottleworks call home. This is a seasonal beer that is only served at the Bottleworks and not bottled.
This beer has a slight smell of maple sweetness. There is also a good maple brown color, filtered clear but brown for sure. This beer has almost no foam which is common for a beer with something other than malt or hops added.
The taste of this beer is all about the maple syrup. There is nothing but sweet maple syrup. The mouth feel is medium but not full which is the only thing that isn't focused around maple syrup. There is no hops and no bitterness, really nothing but sweetness.
I asked the server the story behind this beer and he said it was a beer with maple syrup added and that is what the taste is.
