#42 Sam Adams - Brown Ale
Just another Sam Adam's beer. I didn't get anything special to drink today. I think I have one more Sam Adam's from the sample case.
This beer has a rich caramel smell, with even a little note of coffee. The color is lives up to the name of Brown Ale. This is a filtered beer but it is still very dark. Not too much head and the head is a light brown.
This beer has a strong hop bitterness in the taste. The caramel comes through in the taste but is dominated by the bitterness. There isn't a flora hop taste just a hop bitterness. There is a medium mouth feel but it's not a full as expected from such a dark beer.
This is a drinkable beer, its just nothing to get excited about. As I've said about Sam Adams before, they make a beer that tastes fine. Nothing amazing nothing disappointing. Just fine.
