This beer is on draft at The Stable a new bar in St. Louis.
This beer has a strong stout aroma with a hint of alcohol and a whiskey/bourbon barrel aged notes. The color is black without any light getting through. The head is a light brown and a little thick with medium retention.
The taste is rich and malty with a hint of roast. There is a strong aged beer flavor of store fruit and raisins. The taste also has hints of bourbon barrel aging but, this beer might not be aged in special barrels. There is some bitterness and a hint of hops, but hops are secondary to the malt. THe mouthfeel is thick and smooth. The finish is lightly sweet with little bitterness.
This is a really tasty Big Beer, with lots of flavor. It is always exciting to find such a big beer on draft.
